The house
The car stops on the road from above, because in Positano it is always like that, and then there are forty - two steps to the door — someone comes down to get the bags before you reach the third. The entrance is a stone vaulted corridor that ends on a suspended terrace, and it is there, not at a reception, that you check in, with a coffee and the sea eighty meters below.
There are fourteen rooms on four floors that go down the hillside, all different from each other: the three on the top floor have bathtub facing the window, the two on the ground floor open directly in the buganvilia garden. Breakfast is served on the terrace from 7:30 to 11 a la carte, and the kitchen makes eggs anyway, except in a hurry.
The staff is twelve and the reception doesn't close at night. The beach Grande is one hundred and twenty steps away, with sun loungers reserved in the name of the house between June and September. The hotel gozzo leaves the port at 9:30 for Li Galli and Amalfi and returns before dinner; for Ravello, by car, it is forty minutes, because the road is what it is.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a street elevator to the hotel?
From the road to the door, no: it is forty-two steps, and someone comes down to carry the bags as soon as you warn them that you have arrived. Inside the hotel, yes — the elevator serves the four floors.
Can you drive in?
All the way up the road. Covered parking is 80 metres away and costs € 35 per day. Between June and September it is faster to come by boat, from Naples or from Sorrento, and we mark the crossing.
Is breakfast included?
It is, and is served à la carte on the terrace until eleven. In the room too, no charge, but it needs to be ordered the night before.
Do all the rooms have sea views?
Twelve of the fourteen. The two in the garden give to the buganville and to the hillside — they are cooler, quieter and cheaper, and we say this at the time of the reservation.
Can little kids stay?
From eight years. It's four floors connected by outside stairs, with low walls and wet steps in the morning, and we don't think it's honest to say it's safe with a minor child.
