The house
The shelter is on a closed street for cars, 200 meters from the Antico Theatre, behind an iron gate that has no license plate — just the number. Who comes by car to the square and an electric cart picks up the bags. The lemon yard is the first thing you see, and that's where you sit for check-in while they bring in an almond granita.
There are sixteen rooms in two buildings connected by the courtyard: eight in the old convent, vaulted ceiling and deep window, and eight in the 1960 wing, lighter and with balcony. Breakfast is from 7:30 to 10:30 on the top terrace, from which you can see Etna on clean days — which in January are almost all and in August almost none.
Dinner is served in the courtyard at eight o'clock, with a short card that changes every week as Giardini Naxos fish shop. The beach of Isola Bella is one hundred and fifty meters below: the cable car takes three minutes and runs until eight at night, and the hotel keeps ten sun loungers in the club on the left. Etna in the van is a whole day.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you see Etna from the hotel?
From the coffee terrace, yes, on the clean days. From January to April he appears almost every morning; in July and August the mist hides the volcano most of the days, and we do not promise otherwise.
How do you get to the beach?
By the cable car, one hundred and twenty meters from the gate: three minutes of descent, ticket included in the daily and running until eight at night. On foot is twenty-five minutes of stairs, and on the way back nobody does it twice.
Is dinner included?
Just breakfast. Dinner in the courtyard costs around €55 per person, without wine, and the table needs to be marked by six o’clock in the afternoon — including those staying because the kitchen buys the fish by day count.
Does the hotel have a pool?
Nope. The terrain is on three levels within the historic center and there is nowhere to open one. Anyone who wants a swimming pool is at Palazzo Marina in Positano, or uses the Isola Bella club, which the reception reservation.
Can you drive to the door?
No, the street is closed for cars. You stop in the square, 200 meters away, and the electric cart takes the bags; the covered parking costs €28 per day.
