The house
The road climbs from Cortina for seven kilometers and ends in a covered parking lot, from which come twenty steps to the door. In winter the caretaker passes the blade at six in the morning, then the car goes up without chain almost always; when it does not go up, the truck of the house comes down to fetch. Skis are in a heated closet next to the entrance and never enter the room.
The cottage is from 1972 and the wood is darkened by time, not painted. The living room has double right foot, stone fireplace and a sofa in L where it fits nine. The four suites are upstairs, two of them with balcony window facing the Tofana wall; the background suite is the only one with bath, and the four bathrooms have heated floors.
The track begins 30 meters below the door and descends to the cable car station in four minutes, when the snow is good. Back she doesn't go up, so the pickup picks up everyone at the base at 4:30. In summer the same path turns trail and arrives at Rifugio Dibona in an hour and twenty of walking.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you really ski from the door?
To go down, yes: thirty meters to the entrance of the runway and four minutes by ski to the cable car. Climbing back, no — the pickup picks everyone up at the base at four and a half, or at five when the snow is good.
What if there's no snow?
Between the second fortnight of December and March it is rare to miss, and when missing the cable car works with snow produced. We don't return daily for lack of snow, and we prefer to say that before the reservation.
How many days on Christmas?
Seven, between December 20th and January 6th, always from Saturday to Saturday. Outside this window the minimum is five daily.
Do you have a room downstairs?
No, the four suites are upstairs, down an 18-step wooden ladder, and the house has no elevator.
Will you cook for us?
There's no chef living in the cottage. We combine a Chef of Curtain with one week in advance: € 85 per person dinner, or € 480 per day if he stays the whole stay.
