The house
The leftover is 1783 and is on Commerce Street, a block from the pier. No car enters the Historic Center: the guest stops at the Square of the Flag and a charger of the inn takes the suitcase for the hundred and twenty meters of stone pavement. Who comes from Rio takes four hours by Rio–Santos; from São Paulo, five and a half.
There are eleven rooms on two floors around the courtyard. Seven have a guillotine window for the street and the original wooden leaves; four give to the patio hose and are the quietest. All have air conditioning, ceiling fan and floor running board. The upper floor lining is tablet, and room eight retains the 1910 painting in sight.
Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 10 in the ground floor lounge: fuba cake, mountain cheese and smoked fish from a Trindade producer. In the afternoon the garden hose gives shade to four tables, and that is where the cachaça of the region is served from six. The reception is open until midnight; after that the phone rings in the manager's room.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you drive to the door?
Nope. The Historic Center is closed to car. You stop at Flag Square, 100 - 20 meters away, and a porter at the inn picks up the luggage — notify the arrival time and he waits.
Are the front rooms noisy?
Until 11 p.m., you hear the street, which is stone and has a restaurant. After that the city silences. A light sleeper should order one of the four rooms in the courtyard.
Do you have a parking lot?
We have an agreement with the parking lot of Praça da Bandeira, two minutes away, charged per day. The inn has no garage of its own — no house in the Historic Center has.
Can you rent the entire inn?
Yes, all eleven rooms, for a minimum of three nights and with at least two weeks’ notice. Families celebrating weddings in Paraty often do this.
Is there an elevator?
Nope. The leftover is steeped and the stairway is the original, wooden, with nineteen steps. Two rooms are on the ground floor and they're the ones we indicate to those who have difficulty climbing.
